2006, Society For Technical Communication (STC) STC supports technical writers and editors, content developers, documentation specialists, technical illustrators, instructional designers, academics, information architects, usability and human factors professionals, visual designers, Web designers and developers, and translators - anyone whose work makes technical information available to those who need it. Though the site offers a prethora of information and dynamic funtionality it's legacy design is overdue for updates. There is poor use of usability, accessibility, layout, and the look and feel. necessary to have consistent flow and non-obtrusive navigation with the pages. Curently, the site user a complete redesign and a overhaul of its architecture. Portions of the site (http://www.stc.org/54thConf) validate and use XHTML and CSS WC3 standards. An immediate redesign of the homepage is needed while the rest of the site is being worked on. STC uses, ASP, SQL, .NET, AJAX, Access, Javascript, XML, XSL, and RSS. |

The sites textual content is essential to its readership. It was necessary to have consistent flow and non-obtrusive navigation with the pages. A featured laden forum and board were created to foster discussions for its members in a highly customized setting. The board uses PHP and CSS technology for administration and operation. |
